Grape Shot and Fire Control

Please confirm for me, Grape Shot does require a Fire Control just like most other weapons, right? With the (see rules) taking the spot of the possible "A", and then in the special rules area having no mention of Fire Control and just not sure.

As we are about to test the Fighters with upgraded attack values (well at least the Strike Fighter has upgraded attack values.)

I've always played it as needing FC. It's not listed as autonomous in the weapon chart.

Interested in the official answer though.

I agree with the assessment that it requires FC, but I don't really see why a ballistic weapon would, especially one where you aren't trying to hit a specific long-range target, but use it as a shotgun. Must have been for game balance.
