I just posted something in the genral naval thunder section with a listing of ships I am looking for stats on and help finding stuff about a few of them. It looks like I am going to have to make up stats for a bunch of ships for my own use right now since it seems that most everything that I picked up from Houston ships yards in 1/1000 does not have stats for use in the pre dreads era. I need help in figureing out how to stats ships out under the rules that would be close to what they would have in real life and some how to figure out a refit for a few older ships that would be out dated by 1900 but might get some thing for sometype of upgrade to make it useful a little bit longer or to explain it being used for a 2nd line naval unit. I am not even looking to have a real reason even, alt world settings for this would work anyway for expaling things with my stuff..... I just want to be able to use all these minis I have picked up in 1/1000 from the ened of the civil war to the war of 1905 japan stuff. I know have I think meybe 5 fleets to work out oever all in minis...

Can't help specifically with pre-dreadnought era as I play WW2 but I have some general advice.
Find a ship that Harry has already done stats for and then find it's specs in Conways or something similar and then start working backwards. Divide the displacement tonnage by the hull points to give you a number to divide the tonnage of other ships by in the future to give their hull points. As for the rest of the stats find ships that Harry has already done that have the same or very similar specs and use them as a basis. Speed, armour and even weapons can generally be gleaned, if not exactly then fairly closely, from ships that have already been done.
Hope this helps.

Take a look at this thread as well as some others: www.steeldreadnought.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=shipyard&action=display&thread=463I started these before Harry released RotB2 and for the most part I came very close and I would even argue was a bit more realistic, but as Harry explained in the thread he simplified some things. You do not even need Conways as much of the basic data is available on the Web. As mentioned above just reverse engineer from a similar ship for tonnage and guns and you will be close and that is all that really matters so you can use your models and they will have the basic feel with the game. After you review the fleet lists for RotB abd RotB2 I think you will find many are available or at least a class that is close especially for the SPAN-AM ships as well as all the RUSSO-JAPANESE fleets. You can do this process on your own, but I would encourage you to post each ship/class that has not been officially done in a similar format to what I used then others can weigh in or use your data until such time as Harry gets around to releaseing another expansion. thanks guys that will help a lot since I seem to have picked up a bunch of ships that are not made yet for stats like the gunboats I listed or a central battery ironclad....
