Those bases and ships look really good. I ordered my bases from Litko and they are clear acrylic so I got three different sizes depending on the size of the ship. I prefer standardization whenever possible but I didn't want to spend a lot, so I picked three sizes that would fit as many ships as possible. I don't think having all the bases be the same size really matters in NT as the measurements are either from the back of the base or from tower to tower.
On anther note, where did you find the little flags for your bases? I have to make a bunch of nametags with flags and can't find much of anything online.

Oh yeah, we had fun both games. I think they'll want to play again as long as I provide all the miniatures. As for the dice, we never used that set again and I have hidden them away so they can never cause that amount of chaos again.
And in the second game the Brits refused to leave their edge of the table until the last moment. By that point however, the Germans were too far ahead and easily sailed into their escape zone. Next time we are just going to use some of my ships without a scenario because I discovered that despite having over 200 miniatures, I don't have the right ones to play any other scenarios! I guess I need more miniatures then...

I have been trying to introduce my friends to wargaming for a while now and finally got them to play a game of Battleship Row. However, the first game we played was over very quickly. After we finished laughing, I tried to write down exactly what happened. I don't remember the full sequence of events, but it went something like this. Turn 1 - German ships turn toward their end point and move forward full distance. British ships turn toward the Germans to get the range down. Hood fired on Prinz Eugen and started a fire. Prinz Eugen failed to put out the fire right away, taking a few points of damage. Price of Whales opened up on Bismarck and also started a fire which was not put out right away. Bismarck returned fire on PoW and hit twice. The first hit started a fire and the second hit caused a magazine explosion. Bye bye PoW! Prinz Eugen, on fire, hit Hood but had no way of penetration. However, she did start a fire which spread and also caused a magazine explosion. Boom goes Hood. Everyone stared at the dice for a moment before we agreed that the Germans should get a round of damage control first before they won the game. Prinz Eugen went first and caused the fire to spread. Horrified at the outcome, the player did not want to see what happened. Of course, with out luck and possibly weighted dice, boom went Prinz Eugen. With the look of a man headed to his death, the Bismarck attempted to put out its fire and also caused it to spread. They rolled again and caused started another fire. Damage control sped into action to put out the second fire and caused a magazine explosion. Bismarck too went kaboom! And with that ended our first attempt at playing Naval Thunder. Every ship on the board blew up in the first turn and we could not stop laughing for a while. We decided to try a second game which saw not a single magazine explosion only after I convinced them that this was not how the game normally went. The second game was also weird, as we almost never hit each other and all four ships sailed off the board with little damage. I don't think anything like that first game will ever happen again though.
