Harry,
I'd just like to say that I really liked the fact that you included the Tsushima and Yellow Sea scenarios in "Rise of the Battleships". Ulsan would have been nice as well, but we can't have everything, I guess.
It would be nice if you could include a few other scenarios in "Rise of the Battleships II".

I wasn't planning on it. Reason being that while RotB 1 was focused around the RJW. RotB 2 is just a general pre-dread supplement. Aside from the Span-Am War. . . I don't know of any significant naval engagements that occurred. Do you?

There was also the Battle of the Yalu River during the 1st Sino-Japanese war.

Maybe instead of full scenarios, you could list out some engagments along with an OB and a short history. Players could use that as a jumping off point to create their own. Of course doing this will delay RotB2...

A site listing historical OOBs. This might be a good start for some beginners. However, you must remember, many times historical OOBs were not vary balanced. Sometimes one side would have a seemingly overwhelming advantage. While this doesn't always predict the winner there were usually special circumstances involved that turned the tide of battle. www.navweaps.com/index_oob/index_oob.htm

Hi, I'm considering picking Naval Thunder up as an alternative rules set for A&AM (which I love as a quick lite experience to throw some WW2 ships around).
Are there 'generic' scenarios presented in NT? For example, are there 'convoy raid' or 'airfield bombardment' or 'channel dash' type situations where you are presented with a point value or tonnage limit and victory conditios so that players can then choose forces and play?

I don't think so. I don't have the WWII sets, only WWI and RoB I which has historical scenarios, but I think you could easily covert CB type scenarios over.
Maybe Blue Bear would have some ideas.

Yeah, that's what I'm hoping for. Most of my crowd are not historical gamers so we rarely play set piece scenarios. They are more into the 'pick a fleet/army etc and then see how it does'. Yes, we have a lot of min/max'ers.

Well there's a point system, so you could always just pick a point limit and build to it. Maybe steal some scenarios from Colonial Battlfleet?

There are two scenarios in "Rise of the Battleship" -- Yellow Sea and Tsushima -- but like warchariot I only have the Pre-Dreadnought (RotB) and WWI (Clash of Dreadnoughts). I do not have any of the WWII versions of "Naval Thunder".
It would not, however, be at all difficult to come up with some scenarios.

It also occurs to me that the following format might be of interest.
Three battles will be fought. There is a point total for the entire force . . . but it must be divided into three parts (one for each battle). I might suggest a minimum of 25% for any one force; a maximum of 40%. The three battles might be something like:
A) An "open water" encounter. B) Around a number of islands. C) Convoy mission.
The navy that wins two out of the three is the overall winner . . . or you can carry survivors of the three scenarios on into a "grand battle" if you like.
Anyway, it is an idea that you might consider.

Well there's going to be an ongoing stream of CB releases as well as new stuff for Naval Thunder. I suggest you go ahead and pick it up now and just throw it in from time to time to keep you guys from getting burnt out on anything.

Hmm, yeah, I'll prolly pick it up soon anyways. The funny thing is that NT is the game I originally came to the website for and I ended up with CB first.
