I would like to make a list of all ships/classes that are not yet represented in Naval Thunder.
The Majority/significant ships are well represented and I think the Shipyard is off to a great start filling in the holes such as the ABDA ships.
I would like to use this thread to collect a list of ships people would like to see that are not in the game so as a group we can start to work up stats.
As I recruit War at Sea players over one of the first questions I get asked is are all the War at Sea models represented in NT.
Please post your wants and I will update the list as we go.
Thanks!
The List:
IJN: ISE Hybrid Hosho Taiyo Ryuho Unryu
USN: USS Arkansas-Working in Shipyard USS NewYork-Working in Shipyard USS Montana-Working In Shipyard USS Langley SS Jerimiah OBrien-Working in Shipyard

Great idea Aaron! If I could add to the mix...(all RN "what if") (I am working slowly to bring these and others to the shipyard) HMS Lion class. G3 class battlecruiser design. N3 battleship design. Hood 1942 modernisation. Should scale and availability of models be a limiting factor of posting? I.E. There is no HMS Vanguard in 1/6000th...yet! More suggestions later..

We can't start a Pre-Dread list until Harry finishes "Rise of the Battleship II" . . . so hopefully the recent "Battle of Tsushima" game will inspire him to get it out here.

We will need one for CoD as well. I just figured one thing at a time. As for RotB2 I am going to give Harry a bit more slack. I am hoping he will reconsider and include a few "official" historical scenarios with this expansion. Battle of Manilla and Santiago de Cuba would be a nice start hint hint. I started with WWII as I think most initially come to NT for WWII and then discover how great CoD and RotB are. WWII seems to have the most noticable missing units for those that come over from War at Sea as well. WoTC had several models that are not currently in NT and some of them are key like the ABDA forces.

Sound reasoning.
And, I agree that CoD desperately needs a fleet book. Americans, Japanese, French, Italians, Austro-Hungarians, Russians, Turks...
I will resist the urge to comment on the selection of ships included in RotB II until I have it in my hands. ;D

I can tell you that there definitely won't be any scenarios in RotB2 itself. However, that doesn't mean that some might not show up as freebies here.

Afilter Witte De With was an Admiralen class DD of the second group so it was a Van Galen. Different places/books/material refer to the classes by different names and it gets even more confusing when you realise the first Admiralen was called De Ruyter....

Some missing ships that could be added are:
France: BB Courbet Class BB Lorraine- Modified Provence. Class CL De Grasse CL Emile Bertin Germany: BB H Class- Never built what ifs BC O Class- Never built what ifs Raider Thor
Great Britain: BB King George V- the later war AA upgrades Italy: CA San Giorgio DD Leone Class DD Mirabello Class
Japan: DD Minekaze Class DD Matsu Class- may be classed as the typical IJN DE in the data cards? Netherlands: BC Design 1047- based on the Scharnhorst Class DD Isaac Sweers
Also looking at the list HMAS Australia and Canberra were simply Kent class cruisers with slightly different shapes. I don't think their data cards would be any different to the Kent class cruiser. Regards Martin

This might be a stretch but I would like some ideas on how to configure shore batteries and fortifications. Port Arthur fortifications come to mind. I have the WTJ minis. Also how would you guys work bombardment of shore facilities like refineries, port facilities etc....?

Mike,
If you check bitter rivals I believe the catapult scenario has some stats.

Let me know if any help is needed putting the info on cards. I think I did it right on the pre-deads that Dreadnaught sent me.

Mike
I'd go about it the same way as making a ship. Give it hull points, this will represent the structure of the fortification or emplacement. Give it an armour value, this represents the strength of the emplacement. Give it a too hit number, a lower number for a larger old stone fort or a higher number for a more modern dug in earth emplacement for example. Finally put whatever guns you want into it.
The only problem I can foresee is that you will probably have to come up with your own critical table or heavily modify the existing one for penetrating hits. You could try not using it but I think half the game is seeing what critical effects occur from a shell that penetrates.
As for facilities just give it hull/structure points, an armour value and a to hit number. Probably don't need a crit table for facilities.

Bitter Rivals does have some shore batteries iin it. By and large though, ships vs shore batteries never ends well for the ships. The shore batteries have a most annoying habit of refusing to sink. The ship pretty much has to get a direct hit to take it out.

Thanks for the ideas. The fact that it doesn't turn out well for the ships didn't stop the Japanese attack on the ships in the harbor at Port Arthur.....Togo must have had some big ones........GUNs! that is;). They took on two shore fortification if I remember correctly. Mike out

Yet another question... Shouldn't we post our resources as well (i.e. books, websites), so we can check out the designs (if we aren't familiar with them already)?

Going to work on a data card for the IJN ISE this week. Changes are removing the 2 rear turrets, bumping up the AA and adding additional Recon and Flight Ops. Suggestions for AA, R, Flt Ops and Point Cost?

Yet another question... Shouldn't we post our resources as well (i.e. books, websites), so we can check out the designs (if we aren't familiar with them already)? No need to do that in this thread. The intent here is to create a list of units members would like to see that are not currently in the game. When someone is ready to take on a ship they should start a seperate thread similar to the many others in the shipyard forum and list any references there. Also, don't exclude a ship just because you do not think there is a model available in a certain scale. Proxy is always an option. Additionally I am always amazed by the talent out there by some gamers to modify current models and completly scratchh build models.
