Can you give us a few more pictures, maybe some of the ships individually? They look great! Hope the word gets out. Have you posted on Star rangers site?

Yes, they are one shot and then can reload by landing. I don't have rules in front of me, but I'm sure that is what we settled on when playtesting. It has been awhile...

Very nice indeed. Decals for the carrier decks is the way to go at this scale.

It looks like a great con. Nice Zulu game. We played/play WoG some and also CY6! but we "found" Luftwaffe 46 at Historicon and started playing it. It is great for cons as you don't write or even pick orders, you just move when it's your turn. Also, people can handle 4-12 planes easy. They have other products in the blue sky range that are more historical and are working on a Korean war version.

This has been the "elephant in the room" since the rules first came out. Harry of course has answered this by pointing out the game is naval based and the air is abstracted so the focus is on naval action. I get all that, and as you have already pointed out, pre-WWII it makes little to no difference. This is the main reason I play pre-WWII and because surface engagements are plentiful and necessary. I've never been one to mess with air/naval. I think your approach to the problem makes sense in that it doesn't change the rules, just adjusts them for a more realistic timing. There are some easy air rules that could be used with the system, but that would take away from the focus of naval gaming. Having said all of that, we are big air gamers also. We played CY6! for the last five years or so, but have been looking for a game that had less paperwork, could handle more aircraft for each of us, and was quick. We found Luftwaffe 46 as our answer. There is almost no paperwork (must track hits and ammo along with maneuver points), we can each handle 12-18 aircraft with little effort and we have played out some games in under 45 minutes. The Kamikaze 46 rules include naval surface targets and AAA. I have not try to cross over games, but have had that in the back of my mind...

Yes, Dread said... LOL. . . well you don't need it printed in the rulebook to start playing with it. You can consider it an official option if you like. I might add it next time I do an update, we'll see. So you might try it out. I used way back and think it worked fine...

This must have worked out well for you to get three turns in hour done. Great report, like se if this works out over the long haul.

Can you still buy celluclay? I had two packages of the stuff from the early 80's, but I'm about out and was wondering if you could still find it somewhere.

Use a short length of white pipe cleaner and fix to a round plastic counter with a round blob from a hot glue gun. Paint the cleaner plus blob of glue white, and the counter blue to match the table - cheap, quick and very effective. Steve Another good tip!

We have just finished playing the 'run to the south', went pretty well we got through 16 moves (I think) in about 5 hours. The British battle cruisers hung around too long and lost two, but also lost so much speed that they would have been swallowed up by the high seas fleet. So much fun I forgot to take photos! I hear that!

Today and tomorrow mark the 100th anniversary of the battle of Jutland. I wanted to mark it by playing out the battle, but with the holiday weekend it didn't happen. I will try to get to it sometime this summer. Anyone else trying/doing this battle?
