Unfortunately, I had a project going with another company to release this book, but they dropped the project: it’s probably not going to happen anytime soon:

Ok, first off I own the core rules and the man vs machine books and I overall like the system. I really, really like the basic movement mechanics. But. Why hexes? why? Why not use a square grid or no grid at all like full thrust? Your firing arcs Make sense on a square grid, not so much on a hex grid. P.S. I like your system. But, I couldn't get over the contradiction of having only 4 firing arcs on a 6 sided grid. War chariot pretty much covered it. (Not sure why I didn’t see this thread sooner.) Has to do with the shape of the firing arcs as defined by hexes. Also Hexes allow for better movement and a lot of other things. Finally, I would have liked to have gone with some much more complicated firing arcs, but I was trying to keep the level of rules complexity down. So, I guess the answer is “because reasons.” Lol

The second one. Take the listed damage unless it is fire, flooding, or rudder.

Something like this would probably be a new game. I have one at about 60% right now.

Some of you may have noticed that SDG has been kinda quiet for a while. There are have been a lot of reasons for this, mostly relating to changes in my personal situation. But one problem for me was finding people who could do some of the production work for me (as opposed to the game development.)
Well an old friend of mine contacted me and said he could probably do what I needed. We had a great conversation about a new and brighter future for SDG. I've got a couple projects that have been in various states of completion for a while. . . including one, much asked for game, that is probably 80% done. (Basic rules are good, trying to decide to include force lists or not,.)
No announcements to make yet. But cross your fingers!

1. Seems reasonable.
2. Maybe. Depends on the elevation of the land mass.
3. I think you either use radar, or optical FCS. I don't think they used both at once. Could be mistaken.
4. Ship would count as destroyed.
5. Possibly. It would be easy to make some house rules for those though. Ultimately, they were more of a strategic, area denial weapon, rather than a tactical weapon that would actually affect a battle. I'm not aware of any historical battles fought in a minefield.

There is a problem with the website. I'm going to contact the host tonight and see if I can get it straightened out.

Well I had a partnership arrangement with another company to produce a campaign system, but I haven't heard anything out of them in a very long time.
As far as a Trek Game goes, I have one 90% written that's had some playtesting done to it. I really need to take it to a convention and try it out.
